Getting Ready

It is almost one month out from my departure date. I have a lot to do. Like buy a plane ticket, pick out suitcases, photocopy my passport, and about a million other things. I have a huge to do list but I am so excited that my trip is right around the corner. So far the biggest step I have taken was wiring a very large sum of money to the school in Rome. After speaking with some very nice British folks I felt ok wiping out a savings account. Seriously, I have 7.50 left. I practically danced back to my car after leaving the bank. I take that as a good sign. My fee includes lessons for four weeks and lodging. I will be staying with a host family and getting breakfast and one meal a day. Breakfast in Italy is slim to none. Basically grab some pastry and get out the door. So I am excited to have a chance to practice my italian with the family over dinner or lunch. To keep track of my progress I thought I would include part of my TO DO list:

-buy guide books
-buy plug adaptors so I can email and curl my hair
-buy trip insurance
-look into cell phone coverage
-practice/relearn 2 years of college italian before placement test
-buy opera tickets for Tosca
-plan weekend excursions/hotels
-pick out books to take

Some fun things, lots of things to buy, and some really annoying things. I cannot wait to do all of it and get on that plane! (Provided I actually BUY the ticket!)
